Test Scoring System
The JRA Test Scoring System software can be used to create all of the JRA reports -- which are discussed elsewhere in this website -- either from (a) data that is collected with paper and pencil answer sheets and input with an Optical Mark Reader ("scanner") or (b) data that is collected online using the JRA Online Testing Center. |

The Test Scoring System can be downloaded to your computer -- and upgraded as necessary -- from the Internet. There is no charge for the Test Scoring System itself; reports are paid for by downloading digital report authorizations from the JRA Website.
The program runs under all versions of Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10. Scanning-based test scoring supports a 9600 baud rate transmission speed.

A Typical Scoring Session
A typical session with the JR&A Test Scoring System involves the following steps:
- Collect test data (either by scanning test answer sheets, downloading data obtained from online testing, or inputting data files prepared previously) from one or more applicants.
- Use the Data Editor to correct any errors or inconsistencies in the test data.
- Enter the corrected data into the system's database, and display the individual test data record(s) for each applicant, in the Data Viewer.
- View, sort, and select some or all of the test data records in the Data Viewer.
- Create test reports -- which can be previewed on screen, printed, or exported to pdf files -- for each of the test data records you have selected.
- Clear the test data records from the Data Viewer, archiving them and the associated reports in the Test Scoring System database.
Other Testing Operations
The following other Test Scoring System operations are occasionally done, as required:
- Download or return report authorizations.
- Set various system options.
- Retrieve selected data from the database back into the Data Viewer, for additional processing.
- Export selected test data records to files, for use in research or transfer to other computers.
- Delete selected test data records.
- Manage a list of agency names and codes (for use in identifying the source of the data that you enter into the system).
- Create summary reports for multiple test takers.
- Update the software.
