A Review of Recent Developments in the Field of Public Safety Psychology Related to navigating the nexus of assessment and employment law, detection of sexually violent predators, a review of PAI-2 development, validation of online testing methods, addressing the use of AI in psychological assessment, and investigating convergent validity of implicit and explicit bias and broadband psychological testing measures.
This continuing education (CE) offering is suitable for experienced public safety psychologists. The first presentation reviews innovative new solutions to collecting public safety applicant data in a semi-structred format. The second presentation will feature a panel of public safety psychologists discussing the challange of maintaining an assessment practice at the highest standards in the face of a challenging hiring environment. The third presentation discusses wellness services within public safety organizations. Finally, we will present a study analyzing the validity of the IAT in the context of preemployment public safety hiring.
